I’m thinking about…

Dead people. No really, I am. I’m thinking about my grandmother and grandfather, who both, sadly, are dead. My grandmother died two days before Christmas in 2004, and my grandfather died two days before my birthday last year (if they were alive, I’m sure the three of us would have a morbid laugh fest over my two favorite holidays of the year being ruined. Yes, we are/were sick and twisted like that.). But since I can’t send flowers from 1-800-Flowers to dead people, I’ll have to make due with sending them to people who are still alive. My husband is on my mind, which is no surprise, seeing as how we’re married and our lives are completely intertwined with one another and all that. I don’t want to get into details, but we’ve let each other down, and we need to get up, dust ourselves off, and move on. We love each other so much, we both know that, but sometimes it’s hard to see past the daily grind and the stressful things that occasionally rear their ugly heads to really focus on the love that is behind everything.

I know that sending flowers won’t fix everything, but a surprise flower delivery can always brighten somebody’s day. It has been a while since I have received any flowers, but I remember the last time I did. It was the day after my surgery, and one of the women who was in my pre-op group stopped in to see how I was doing, and she brought a small bouquet of flowers with her. It was so sweet of her to do that. I took pictures of the flowers the next day, when I was at home, because I wanted a way to remember them, and her.

I definitely need to surprise Dan with flowers one of these days, and sometime soon. I would have them sent to his work, of course, since it would be awkward and weird to have flowers delivered to our home when we’re both already here. 1-800-Flowers has delivery options all over the US, and an amazing selections of flowers, special flower arrangements, gift baskets, and more.
