The end of an all-nighter

With the exception of a one hour nap in a parking lot this morning (no lie; I was so tired and drowsy driving back after dropping Leah off at the vet’s that I pulled into a hospital parking lot and caught a few Zzzs) and a two hour nap this afternoon, I have been up since 8:00am yesterday morning. So what’s that… 35 hours without much in the way of sleep? Blech. I’m feeling quite weary and rung out, and I am seriously looking forward to going to bed! So much, in fact, that I’m already IN bed. Alyssa and Ryan are at VBS until 8:30pm, and my mom is picking them up and bringing them home, so I have no one to worry about for the rest of the night but myself. ♥

Leah is doing as well as can be expected for being about ten hours post-op. She was very happy to see me when I picked her up this afternoon, though the receptionist, who I kind of chewed out this morning for suggesting baby aspirin for pain control (I told her flat out she/the vet had better cough up something stronger for Leah, or else I’d be taking my chances with liquid vicodin cut down to what I would guess to be an appropriate dosage for a 16 lb. dog), barely cracked a smile. I brought her crate and a pad into our bedroom, so she can relax, sleep, and recover without loudness and interruption from the kids, and she won’t have to go far to go to the bathroom.

Eclipse was a freaking fantastic movie. L and I watched Twilight at her house first, then drove out to the IMAX theater, scored kick-ass seats in the top row, and totally soaked up every yummy, exciting moment of the movie. Team Edward? Team Jacob? I don’t know anymore… I’m leaning more towards Team Orgy! Oh heck yeah. ;)

With that said, I’m going to take some Nyquil (overtired + the beginnings of a shitty cold = need for yummy cold meds), put on True Blood, and go to bed.

Goodnight!

  1. I’m surprised they gave Leah anything at all. When I got Bella spayed who weighed about 13-14lbs at the time of her surgery didn’t receive any pain meds afterwards. They said they weren’t necessary, and aside from being out of it the day she came home which was later in the afternoon, same day as the surgery, she was up and about the next day. I had to KEEP her from running and jumping :P

    Can’t wait to see Eclipse!

  2. I’m glad you enjoyed Eclipse. It’s not my thing but I’m glad to see everyone who was excited about it really liked it. :)

I’m glad Leah is also okay!

Wow get some sleep hun, I’m not into twilight…

  5. Pain Killer for the dog? When our own pup got neutered, he handled it like a champ. But they did keep him overnight for observation. I dunno.

  6. Oh your so lucky you got to see it. Were gonna go see it Saturday night. Having no sleep is not fun! Catch up on your sleep. I am glad Leah is doing good.
