Dan loves tea, both cold and hot. He’s hopelessly addicted to Turkey Hill iced tea, but he also gets on kicks — particularly in the fall and winter — with hot teas. When he does make hot tea, he tends to use the pre-packaged Lipton tea bags, though he does use a spiffy electric tea kettle to brew the tea in. It’s seriously one of the best appliances I’ve purchased for our kitchen, as it’s not only multi-purpose (did you know that you can make spaghetti in an electric tea kettle?), but also something that Dan uses fairly often, since tea makes up 99% of his liquid intake.
Dan was almost more excited than I was to check out California Tea House and their online tea store. Their collection of loose leaf teas include green, black, and white teas, as well as specialty blooming, oolong, rooibos, herbal and decaf varieties. We got to try out Vanilla Creme Earl Gray, Yunnan Golden Buds, White Peony, Lapsang Souchong, and Endless Summer Blooming Tea.
All of the teas were fragrant and definitely packed plenty of flavor, but our favorite is definitely the Endless Summer Blooming Tea, if for no other reason than pure aesthetics:
