Moving? You’ll need moving boxes!

You know what the worst part of moving is? It isn’t the packing, or even the unpacking, or even the moving part. Those aspects of moving are pretty well directed and efficient once you get a plan together and get going. It’s finding boxes to put all of your stuff in that’s the hard part. You’d think that getting boxes to move stuff in is easy, but it’s not. I can tell you from multiple moves and several different experiences that unless you know someone who works in a factory or even a large store that can get you boxes, you’re screwed. You can’t just dumpster-dive for boxes, because first, stores usually recycle them or send them back for credit. And second, boxes that are recycled or sent back for credit are usually broken down or packaged together prior to being sent back, so even if you can access them, they’re not going to be in a usable condition.

If you don’t have connections with someone who can get you large, strong, intact boxes, you’ll need to buy boxes to move with. You’ll definitely want to look for moving boxes in particular, as these boxes are heavy, strong, and built to hold everything from clothing to movies to dishes. U-Pack offers several types of moving boxes, including wardrobe boxes that can hold items that are on hangers, assorted boxes and starter kits that provide boxes of a variety of sizes and dimensions, and specialty items such as furniture pads that can protect furniture during moves. Moving boxes can be pricey, but they’re a worthwhile investment because they protect your belongings while you move from one place to another. Best of all, moving boxes can be kept for future moves, or sold to someone else who needs them!
