Raise your hand if you have ever approached a stranger to ask the time. I know I have! In recent years I haven’t had to, since I carry my cell phone on me at all times, and obviously it has both digital and analog clocks on it. But at the water park last week, Dan, his two sisters and myself suddenly found ourselves having no idea what time it was, since we left our cell phones in the locker we rented for the day. I did ask one person what time it was, and snuck a peek at someone else’s digital watch, but then I got the brilliant idea to take a photo with my [waterproof] digital camera, and then look at the photo’s timestamp. A hassle to be sure, but it’s better than not having any idea of the time!
That was one of the occasions where I honestly wished I had a watch. I was never much of a watch person; the last time I wore a watch was probably in 2007, and even then I only wore it because it was stylish and coordinated nicely with the outfit I had on. I could really go for a more basic, everyday style of watch. I was looking at bluedial.com earlier, and they certainly have a lot of styles to choose from. I kind of have my eye on the jacques lemans watch, but I don’t know… it’s a little fancy for everyday wear. What do you think?
In any case, BlueDial has enough watches in stock for me to wear a different watch every day for the next ten years. From the fancy Cartier and Ebel watches to the name-dropping Fossil and Gucci watches, there are certainly plenty to choose from. And hey, they take PayPal! That’s nice and convenient. ;)
