Mission Menus Challenge

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Mission Foods. All opinions are 100% mine.

It’s no secret that I don’t like to cook (cleaning, on the other hand, is no big deal, so I’ll routinely beg someone else to cook and offer my willingness to clean up afterwards). So when I find easy-to-prepare meals that Dan and the kids enjoy, I’m all over them (the meals, not Dan and the kids; though I am all over Dan, but that has nothing to do with food*). One of those meals is tacos, the other is chicken wraps. Both require the use of flour tortillas (and hard shells for the tacos). I usually purchase Mission Flour Tortillas. Why? They’re almost always on sale, and they always taste good no matter how they’re prepared. Also, they’re cholesterol-free, contain no trans fat, and are available in 6″, 8″ and 10″ sizes.

I’m looking over the Mission Menus Challenge right now, and I’m getting some great dinner ideas. One of my biggest downfalls with cooking, in addition to not liking to do it, is that I never know what to make. I have very little creative cooking skills, or even creative meal-throwing-together skills, so I wind up going through the same types of meals over and over. And yes, that gets quite boring.

Anyway, the Mission Menus Challenge is all about challenging consumers to submit budget-friendly (read: no more than $10) to missionmenus.com. The catch is that Mission Flour Tortillas have to be used, and the recipe must feed a family of five! Other than using Mission Flour Tortillas and keeping the meal cost under $10, you’re free to be as creative as you want (psst… feel free to pass some of that creativity to me).

Recipe submissions give you the chance to compete in a Los Angeles cook-off that will result in someone winning a $10,000 dream kitchen makeover, plus there will be weekly prizes for numerous winners.

You can submit recipes until August 9th, so get cookin’!

* No twinkie & sausage fetish here, thank you!
