My boobs hurt and my uterus hurts and I’m incredibly sad and on the verge of tears. Hello stereotypical woman on her period? Ugh. This intensifying of hormones for PMS and menstruation really, really suck.
In happier news, Dan and I surprised Alyssa and Ryan with a trip to a local kiddie amusement park yesterday. The place is less than a half an hour from us, so it kind of amused me to make a take a short drive to a place that people drive hours, literally hours, to get to. Suckers. *snicker* We got there in time for the twilight rates, and hearing the kids’ indrawn breaths and squeals of delight when we pulled into the parking lot was SO worth it. Now it makes me wish we had done it sooner!
Our trip was the second for Dan and Alyssa (they went two years ago), and the first for Ryan and I. Alyssa and Ryan rode their first “big” roller coaster (Ryan tested the waters on a smaller one), several other spinny rides and the swings (I skipped the spinny rides and the swings, because spinning rides and I do not get along) and the skylift, and a log flume ride that Ryan giggled like crazy over and begged us to do again (we did, of course). We even let Alyssa and Ryan ride a swinging space shuttle ride on their own, which gave me a colossal heart attack seeing how small they looked in the seat and how flimsy the bar seemed and how fast the ride went. (But they were fine, of course. I just had a case of Mom Nerves.)
Unfortunately the three hours we had weren’t enough to do all of the rides, so we’re going to go back next Saturday evening a little earlier (I found coupons which will give us almost the same amount of savings on regular tickets that we had by purchasing twilight tickets, yay!) and hopefully do the entire park in one visit.

When I was younger, my parents would buy season passes to our nearby amusement park. Then we would go up there on a Sunday afternoon or on overcast days when it might rain, basically anytime we wanted. We usually only stayed for a few hours at a time- that way my mom didn’t have to worry about packing a picnic lunch or paying for overpriced funnel cakes.
Of course I haven’t been to that park in YEARS now…
Look how tan Alyssa is! Is it awful that I’m jealous?! I’d love to go to an amusement park. Andrew and I wanted to do Busch Gardens this summer, we just couldn’t sucker anyone into coming who’d be willing to just stand around with Claire while everyone else rode rides (we were hoping his mom would fill this part, and she was willing, just couldn’t get our schedules to match =[ ).
Awwww! It looks like they had alot of fun!
awww looks like a lot of fun! And Alyssa has a great tan!
Feel better! Hormones suck! Sounds like the amusement park was a good time!!
I love Dan’s face on the log ride!! Priceless.
