[Sex toy review] Chippendales Diva

Disclaimer: this is a review of a sex toy.

DSC_1055 Babeland was generous enough to offer me a Chippendales Diva to review, and man oh man, I am so glad I jumped at the opportunity. I’m not a vibrator hag, but I am highly desirous of vibrators that not only kick out strong, consistent vibrations, but are shaped right so that they’re easy and comfortable to hold and use. The Chippendales Diva? It does all that and more.

But before I launch into my review of the Diva, I want to bring up an issue I have been complaining about off and on, both here on Jenn.nu and on Twitter: my inability to have orgasms easily. Or even semi-easily. Right now I’d take the “semi” and be happy. Don’t get me wrong — the sex drive is there. The interest is there. The wetness is there. The build up is there. But that final “push” off the edge of “I’m close” to “Oh yes!” is sadly missing, and it’s often very hard to obtain, whether through sex or through masturbation. I know that my issue isn’t physical or psychological; it’s hormonal, but that doesn’t make it any easier to deal with. It’s frustrating and off-putting, and it can be quite irritating when Dan and/or I have other things to do, even if the other things are nothing more than getting some much-needed sleep. This inability-to-orgasm-easily issue has been plaguing me for a few months now, and I know that my hormones will eventually balance out and orgasms will once again be just a few minutes (or less, haha) away, but until that happens sex is both delightful and frustrating.

So as you can imagine, with orgasms being difficult enough to obtain, having “issues” arise during sex that make them even harder to have is just… intolerable. Heh. So that brings me to my review of the Chippendales Diva. The Diva is a handheld vibrator that is about the size — and almost the shape — of your average computer mouse. Unlike your average computer mouse, however, the Diva is designed to fit the shape of your hand, but more importantly the shape of your vulva and clitoris in particular. Best of all, its broad, flat design and curve make it perfect for use during sex.

I love toys that come with their own storage pouches.

Note the delicious protrusion for full-on clitoral contact.

The Chippendales Diva is made out of ABS plastic, and is designed to be safe for water play. It runs on just three AAA batteries, and offers easy-to-manipulate ON (+) and OFF (-) buttons that control not only the intensity of the vibrations, but the pattern. Choose from a steady-on vibration, or hold down the ON button to cycle through various pulsation and escalating/de-escalating modes for added intensity.

The Diva is small enough to tuck away in your purse or luggage; it comes with its own lined pouch for added discreetness and protection. For those who do like to travel with their sex toys, you’ll be happy to know that the Chippendales Diva can be locked in the OFF position by pressing and holding the ON and OFF buttons together for about five seconds.

I’m not ashamed to admit that I tore into the Chippendales Diva packaging like a kid on Christmas morning the very day it arrived. Popping the batteries in was a piece of cake, thanks to the easy slide-off bottom of the toy, and starting it up was just as simple. I have used the Diva both with Dan and on my own, and I have been quite satisfied (pun most definitely intended) with all of my experiences. During sex, the Diva fits perfectly against me, and its contoured shape doesn’t get in the way, shift out of the way or cause any pressure points or discomfort to either Dan or myself. Its shape also keeps it in place, so the direct orgasm-inducing stimulation is entirely hands-free. That leaves my hands free to hold Dan, touch him in all of the right places, or simply hang on for the ride. ;) The protrusion I tried to get a picture of (shown earlier in this post) comes into direct contact with my clit, and let me tell you, for a small toy the Diva kicks out decently strong vibrations, and they’re consistent in strength and “thrumminess” throughout the entire toy — not just in certain areas.

For solo play, the Chippendales Diva is also a lot of fun, but just as I wouldn’t eat filet mignon at home alone, I’ll probably reserve the Chippendales Diva for use with Dan. In my opinion, that’s what it’s really intended for, anyway. ;)

In summary, the Chippendales Diva is more than worth its $89.00 price tag. It’s a kick-ass vibrator that is perfectly shaped for a woman and for use by couples during sex in any position, and it has the powerful vibrations and fun vibration patterns and modes to make this toy the ideal vibrator. I’m definitely keeping it close by in the bedroom. ;)
