The internet & parental control

With two desktops, two laptops and a netbook, plus two incredibly tech-savvy kids, you better believe that Dan and I are going to be flexing our parental control muscles when it comes to the aforementioned kidlets surfing the interwebs. We plan on educating Alyssa and Ryan on how to use the internet safely and protect their identities, but they’re still kids, so we’re still going to do our part to make sure that there is both control and supervision in place.

CYBERminder is a product that is designed to provide age-based protection for children, and it’s done simply and securely through a USB key. CYBERminder is available for children under the age of 9, kids ages 9-12, and teens. The USB key product works by installing software on the computer it is plugged into, and then allowing the user to visit those websites that are deemed suitable for their age.
