Dayquil and vitamins are a part of a balanced breakfast

My balanced breakfast, anyway. I have never been a fan of breakfast, not since I was a child and realized how much it sucked to have to wake up at a certain time each morning. But since my gastric bypass surgery (can you believe it’s been almost a year and exactly 102 lbs since I had it?!) I’ve had even less of an interest in breakfast — and other meals, too. There are many days when I look at eating as just another task for the day, like brushing my teeth or folding a load of laundry. Not something I want to do, but something that needs to be done so I go ahead and do it. And if I can have a decently flavored toothpaste or the nice scent of a fabric softener to enjoy, then I might as well have something tasty to eat. But overall, eating isn’t something I’m interested in a lot of the time, except for sustenance. If I could “eat” simply by popping pills, I’d probably eat a hell of a lot less than I’m eating now (and I’m not really eating a lot these days).

In other news, it is super COLD this morning. I had to defrost my car’s windshield before I could even drive to Panera. The farms and their fields looked rather eerie, all covered in frost and with a thin layer of smoke hovering over them. And I swear I passed some sheep and even some horses that had frost on their coats. Poor animals. :/

This super coldness reminds me: I need a damn winter coat! I don’t want wool, and I’m not a fan of suede. I liked some of the puffy, down coats I saw at Kohl’s last week, but I want something a bit longer than my hips. Upper thigh would be nice. But I don’t want something too thick, because I can’t stand feeling like I’m suffocating in a winter coat. I’ll just be more apt to take it off, despite subsequently freezing my ass off.

See? I’m picky, especially with winter coats, so this is why I can’t just buy one online. I guess I’ll have to suck it up and go over to the mall later this week, where I can try on coats at Boscov’s, Bonton, JCP, and Sears. I’ve already checked Target, and I don’t really shop at Walmart and their line of coats never really appealed to me. There is a Burlington Coat Factory nearby, and I believe a Marshall’s recently opened up. Geez… that’s like six stores to check out in a day. Not that I’m not a fan of shopping… but damn… that’s a lot of running around!

In other other news, I won a 32GB iPod Touch from @TheMaxSignal. It’s supposed to arrive anytime between today and the 8th. Am I stalking the poor FedEx and UPS guys? Absolutely!

  1. I often find it curious that even though we live about 12 hours away from each other our weather pretty much remains the same. It’s bitter cold this morning.

I go through stages were eating feels like a task, but honestly – I forget to eat 90% of the time because my life is so chaotic with Viviana.

Congrats on all the weight loss, I am extremely proud of you.

  2. I swear by pea coats. I probably have too many of them, but they are really the best. My favorite is a cashmere/silk blend I picked up from Lord & Taylor’s, it’s black and thigh length and so incredibly versatile.
