[Sex toy review] Lelo Elise

Disclaimer: this is a review of a sex toy.

Lelo Elise The lovely people of Babeland recently sent me the Lelo Elise, as well as another pick from their line of new sex toys, and I couldn’t have been more excited to see its (fast!) arrival. I have a thing for Lelo. Their vibrators and dildos are all made out of a lovely matte silicone, they’re all rechargeable, and they’re all absolutely gorgeous. Just as important, all of Lelo’s toys are packaged beautifully. To me, presentation is important. No, it doesn’t have any impact on the function or quality of the toy itself, but it means something in its own right.

So, Lelo Elise. She’s bigger than most of the other vibrators I have, but she’s not size-queen huge. Rather, she’s long and broad. She’s eight and a half inches in length and one and a quarter inches in diameter (four and a half inch circumference). The shaft itself is not only long and broad, but slightly curved. This makes Elise great for sexy play — clitoral stimulation, g-spot stimulation and general vaginal penetration — or general non-arousing (or arousing — take your pick) massages.

Elise comes equipped, as most Lelo sex toys do, with multiple styles and speeds of vibrations. One cool feature is there are two settings for the steady-on vibrate: one that spreads out the vibrations throughout the shaft of the toy, and another that concentrates them more in the upper portion of the shaft — perfect for clitoral stimulation and more intense g-spot stimulation, in my opinion. Other vibration modes include fast and slower pulsations and a few roller coaster modes. There are what feels like 8 or so levels of intensity/speed for each vibration mode. But unless you have a clitoris made of steel, you’ll be quite satisfied with the vibrations set to the fifth or sixth speed.

Being rechargeable means no need for batteries, which next to her shape (the broad, curved shaft is perfect for g-spot stimulation no matter what your anatomy) and vibrations is my favorite feature of Elise. To my knowledge all Lelo chargers are universal, meaning the charger that comes with Elise will work with other Lelo toys (Nea, Siri, Gigi, Tor, etc.) — and vice versa. Elise is also splashproof — so don’t hesitate to take her in the shower for some wet or private fun!

Without a doubt, Lelo’s Elise rocked my world. She feels good, and the silicone goes along perfectly with water- or oil- based lubricant, and also warms up quickly to the touch. The vibrations are strong and consistent throughout the toy, and the four-directional pad makes it easy to switch through vibration modes and adjust speeds as desired. Clean-up is also a breeze, thanks to Elise’s silicone finish and her splashproof design.

If you’re interested in Lelo Elise, don’t let her price ($169.00 at Babeland) deter you. You’re investing in a high quality toy that comes with a 10 year warranty (though if you care for her right, you probably won’t need it) and delivers immense pleasure with every use. Elise comes in a sturdy black matte box, with an instruction manual, a black power charger, and a satin bag (mine is black, but the color may vary depending on which color Elise you pick) for discreet storage.
