As I perused the numerous Black Friday/Christmas ads Dan dumped in my lap earlier this evening, one thing I noticed in terms of fashion is that hats are back, and in a very big way. And I don’t see why not — I myself am “guilty” of wearing them on occasion. See?

So as you plan out your holiday shopping list, particularly for tweens, teens and young adults, why not consider checking out hats? Hats are a great fashion accessory because they’re appropriate at any time of the year, and can be used whether you’re dressing up or dressing down. Take Fedora hats, for example. I could easily see them accompanying an older woman’s Sunday Best outfit, or a younger woman’s tank top and capris. Then there are Panama hats, which I’ve seen plenty of young men and women rockin’.
But since it’s cold weather for most of us (as I type this I’m wrapped up in a heated blanket!), you may want to put winter hats at the top of your list. Whether you’re shopping for a man, a woman, a teenager or even a child, you’re bound to find hats that are both functional and stylish. My favorite style is the one with the ear flaps — I get cold ears, and worse yet, cold piercings that make the insides of the holes in my ears hurt! But pick whatever style you’d like — just be sure to include a gift receipt or return slip, in case the recipient doesn’t like the style you chose.
