December 6 – Make.
What was the last thing you made? What materials did you use? Is there something you want to make, but you need to clear some time for it?

The last thing I made was snowman-shaped crayons for Alyssa and Ryan. I got the inspiration to do so after reading Repurposed crayons and finding way too many broken, chewed up (by Leah and Ryan) crayons. Alyssa and I peeled the wrappers off of the crayons, and then sorted them into a snowmen silicone mold tray that I purchased ($2.99 at Kmart) just for this purpose. We let them heat up in the oven for about ten minutes at 350°, and then allowed them to cool for about a half hour before popping them out of the molds:

I want to make holiday cookies, but I need some motivation to get started!

  1. These are so adorable! When I was younger, my mom would help me make these in the muffin pan (just used regular cupcake liners) and they were so nice and easy to grip. I like how the colours blended together for your snowmen crayons. It seems like the popular colour to chew on was green ;)
