I switched to contact lenses three years and two months ago, and while I have no regrets, I am grateful for the fact that I own not one but three pairs of glasses (thank you Zenni Optical & Eye Buy Direct! ♥), so that on my lazy days I can just wear a pair of them and skip the contacts. One thing any contact lens wearer will tell you is that the suckiest thing in the world about contacts is dirty, grimy ones. Worse still are the contacts that look clean and even feel clean, but obviously aren’t, because once they’re on your eyes it feels like grits of sand are on the inside of them.
The best way to keep your contact lenses in optimal shape is to follow your optometrist’s instructions on care: wear them only for the recommended amount of time, wash your hands thoroughly before and after handling them, and store them in saline solution when not in use. Of course, it’s important to use sterile saline solutions for eyes, and not just any old saline solution. While standard saline solution will work in a pinch, you want the specialty type of saline solution that is designed just for use with contact lenses.
