I’ve been a bad girl

And bad girls must pay for their misdeeds. Okay, so I’ve only been a little bad, but bad enough that I’ve committed myself to the Five Day Pouch Test. The holidays got to me, too, and I’ve picked up bad habits: light grazing, not watching the carbs, etc. I haven’t gained any weight, but I have been bouncing between 183 and 187 since having my gallbladder out in October, and goddammit I have twenty-five pounds to go and I WILL get them off 1. The 5 Day Pouch Test is touted as being very effective at kicking bad habits, giving the stomach pouch that freshly-post-op feeling 2, stopping the cycle of bad carbs and such, and also jumpstarting weight loss again. This will hopefully be the kick in the pants that both myself and my stalled metabolism/weight loss plateau need.

Anyway, I started last night by having a vile 25g protein shot 3 for dinner. This morning I had another one for breakfast, and I had a half of a cup of fat-free, sugar-free chocolate pudding made with 1% milk and a scoop (15g worth) of protein powder. Now I’m plotting dinner. I was originally going to have yet another protein shake (so exciting! 4), but then I read in more detail some of the recipes listed for the 5 Day Pouch Test, and there’s one for ham & cheese soup that can be used in place of protein shakes on days 1 and 2. NOM NOM NOM. Guess what Jenn is having for dinner?

  1. Even if it means losing 25 lbs more than my body wants to, as I am worried that my loose skin may be adding up to at least 15 lbs by itself *sigh*
  2. That right there brings back memories of being terrified of popping a stitch or rupturing something if I ate more than two spoonfuls of something!
  3. And to think, I am excited about buying a 12-pk of 50g protein shots. Yes, the stuff is vile, but protein is just THAT important for us post-ops!
  4. Not…

  1. It’s hard not to pick up bad habits, but hopefully this works for you and you are able to lose the last 25lbs you want. You look great either way though :)

  2. That 5day pouch test sounds interesting. I hope it works for you and you get back on track. Christmas really does like to screw with our bodies, eh?! :D

  3. I commend you for being able to handle the taste of those… things. I have really sensitive taste/smell and I generally end up puking when I try to take something like that. Which is extremely frustrating, especially when you WANT it and NEED it and your body basically says get the fuck out yo.

Anyways. I hope this treats you well and you achieve your goal with it. =]
