Two or so years ago Dan and I were at Walmart one night 1, and while picking up odds and ends like curtain rods and a gallon of milk and a gallon of tea, I saw a set of accent tables from Better Homes and Gardens that I liked. They were mission style, complete with iron accenting and the overhead style lamps. I really loved the look of them, and couldn’t wait to bring them home and set them up. Unfortunately, while each accent table looked great, its construction was flimsy at best. It wasn’t long before Dan had to take extra nails, wood glue and super glue to both tables, in order to keep them together.
So needless to say, since we’re checking out paint and carpeting and the like, accent tables are also on the possibly-to-buy list. With so many types of accent tables available on the market, we definitely have a lot of browsing to do. Cocktail tables come up frequently in searches, and while they look great, they don’t quite fit into our decor. The same goes with console tables – also nice, but a little bulky for our liking.
Quick – give me ideas for accent tables! (Don’t suggest IKEA, however, as there isn’t one near us. 
)
