Size stability

For the first time in nearly two years, my body seems to have stabilized and so I pretty much know my size (with the exception of Target t-shirts, which run so differently that I have a drawer of larges, extra larges and 1Xs that all have the same fit). Thank god. I can’t tell you how many times over the past year I’d purchase 5-10 bras or pairs of jeans at a time, take them home and try them all on, and then return all but 1-2 (or in some cases, just one).

Bras: 36DD1

Shirts: large (with the notable exception of Target)

Underwear: 7/large

Pants: 13

Now if only my feet would magically shrink. I inherited the big foot gene from my mom and grandmother. While other chicks get to flaunt about in easy-to-find sizes like 7, 8 and 9, I deal with 11. Ugh. But at least I can wear any type of jewelry now, including orange county jewelry. Do you know what a pain it is to find plus size jewelry!?

  1. One exception: Self Expression 4-way convertible strapless bra, whose band runs small and cups run big, so I need a 38D

  1. I can’t wait until thats me. I have the big foot gene too 11/12 depending because of my foot width which is sizable now because of my weight.

    • It’ll be you! I’ve come a long way from 331 lbs / size 26/28/30 in tops & pants and a 46DDD+ bras, and you will too! I can’t wait — we’ll have to celebrate together. :)

That’s is so something I’ve wanted to ask you but I was too embarrassed to. Lol that’s one thing I think scares me about weight loss. I have no butt and I think I would be devastated if after losing all this weight (254 lbs. My heaviest ever!) I lose my boobs. Do you notice a difference in firmness? You look amazing! I’ve followed your blog for years and to know that a real person can do this without the help of a special dietian and 40 trainers is so inspirational.

    • On the butt issue: I definitely lost some of my butt. :( I kind of miss it!

Boobs: I went from a 46DDD/G to a 36DD. I don’t have the firmness I’d like, but granted, in addition to having such a large band/cup size at one time I also went through two pregnancies and breastfed for a combined 24 months. Up until recently the firmness was just not there at all… it was awful. But I wear bras 24/7 — highly supportive/underwired bras during the day, and sports bras at night — so that has helped! More recently I’ve noticed that I’ve got the desired “lift” and nipple tiltage (if that makes sense) that I was lacking before.

And thank you — but to clarify, while I didn’t do all this with a bazillion trainers and bland diet food, I *did* have gastric bypass surgery in November of 2009!

  3. I’m slowly going through some size changes myself, I can only imagine speeding it up. As for your feet, you are the opposite of my world. I wear a size 5. Though I can go all the way down to a size 3 in little girls!

    • Wow, a little girls 3? My daughter is almost a 1, lol. You’ve blown my mind for the night!

      • It makes me feel good inside that should I want I can always buy a pair of red glittery shoes and pretend I’m Dorothy <3 lol

You wear the same size as my friend Megan and she says the same thing! LOL

My friend Victoria (victoriacamp.com) wears a girls size 1/size 2.5 in womens and she has problems sometimes finding appropriate shoes, too!

  4. Hopefully once I have Rydia, I can actually lose the 20 pounds, and then some that I gained during this pregnancy. Because these boobs, while they’re for a good thing for the next year, is BREAKING my old bras!!!

And I’m a size 9 wide in shoes. Non wides are easy to find, yes. Wides? Not so much >.<

  5. Nordstroms Rack has large size shoe sales frequently if you’re ever near one…
