Between Dan, Dan’s brother C, and myself, we could definitely use our very own Dr. House. The three of us are dealing with symptoms of problems that have yet to be diagnosed. They all seem to be related to the stomach and digestive tract, though Dan is also having unexplained/unresolved muscle and joint pain, including the sensation of swollen joints (knuckles in particular) that don’t look swollen. I’ve had two endoscopies and three CT scans, and most recently an upper GI with small-bowel-follow-through, and I may be facing a colonscopy next; Dan’s brother C has had both the upper and lower reaming; and now Dan is looking at endoscopy on June 1st, and a possible colonscopy after that, as well as more blood work.
Unresolved medical issues suck, especially because they seem to have a knack for rearing their ugly and painful heads at the most inconvenient and inopportune of times.

I can relate 100% – been suffering over a year with misc symptoms when the Docs seemed to think I was “fine” so I’ve been trying to tackle this myself. I just started working on cleaning out my colon… if you’ve got junk clogged in your colon it can cause all sorts of wrongs but you won’t usually hear that from Docs since their all about the money and pills. Oh, fatigue? Here’s some anti-depressants pills. Most Docs don’t look for the core cause of the symptoms. Hope you all feel better soon!
I know that feeling with my stomach problems. Hopefully they will find out what’s wrong soon. I have learned that doctors aren’t always right and do believe that they make some choices for money reasons and not really for the patient. Like me and my knee surgery. I really didn’t need knee surgery, but he told me that it might help. Well it didn’t, and now he has the money from the insurance whether he fixed the issue or not. I hate doctors!!
Have them test you for toxins
oh or leaking gasses
I agree with the above poster. It’s weird all three if you are suffering from it. Why about the kids? How are they doing? Any tummy troubles? Could it be your water?
Having two pharmacists for parents, I’ve grown up with a good bit of medical lore around the house–these symptoms seem aligned with flu symptoms, at first blush. Any fever with the stomach ailments and joint pain?
Alternatively, I would second (or third) the motion to check your water for any toxins or poisons that may be leaching into your water supply. Might also want to catalog what food all three of you have been eating, just to rule out any mold contamination and other such icky stuff.
Since all 3 of the sufferers are living in the same house and having the symptoms at around the same time, it stands to reason that there is something in the environment causing it. Nevertheless, check with the doctor as soon as you can. Sending hugs and prayers for wellness!
I had tons of unresolved medical problems and they kept telling me I had crap that didn’t fix anything. It was my thyroid, which is now killing itself, so yippee. I had the same joint and knuckle pain that you explain with Dan, and they told me it was fibromyalgia for years. All I can say is if they diagnose him with something and it doesn’t get better keep fishing! Your whole digestive issue is very worrying…very. Did they do an MRI? I’d probably try anything at this point if I were you!
