Why hello there, September

September already? It’s been a busy week. On Monday, Alyssa, Ryan and Puff started school – Alyssa is now in first grade, Ryan is in full-day1 kindergarten, and Puff is in eleventh(!!!) grade. I got a lot of quality work time and blissfully kid-free errand time in on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning and afternoon. On Thursday, I managed to lose my cellphone no sooner than leaving the house (very very bad), and Dan and I spent the day at Dorney Park (very very good).

Yesterday, I did some more unsuccessful searching for my cellphone in between running errands with all three kids (damn you, four day holiday weekends *shakes fist*), who got rather annoying after the first few stops. Yesterday afternoon we went back out (thank you payday!) to buy some groceries and odds and ends, and then we headed to a local bounce house. After leaving there, Dan was kind enough to meet me at my preferred hair salon (Cost Cutters – nothing high-end, obviously, but I absolutely heart the two stylists who work there), so he took the kids and went home while I went and gots my hair did.

And boy has it been did:

This short, particularly in the back, was not my first preference, but I was realistic to know it was a possibility. A very possible possibility. When I took bleach to my hair for a third time in as many months, I knew I was taking a risk. But that risk was made greater when something came up – family/CPS related – that delayed me by over two hours in getting the bleach washed out. So even though I used a lower strength developer, having the bleach left in for 2+ hours longer than intended definitely killed my hair. I had a bit some a decent amount of breakage. And weeks of using deep conditioners every day and super-deep conditioners every other day and using leave-in conditioning treatments daily and shampooing with a very gentle, sulfate-free shampoo only once a week couldn’t salvage it.

So I gave the stylist the go-ahead and hack it all off, but to make it look cute and sassy. I’d say she did a good job. And if nothing all, this type of style really works well with the pink!

Today I got a new cellphone – the T-Mobile myTouch 4G slide, since my beloved G2 has been discontinued, and I was getting the run-around from the insurance company (*insert more fist-shaking here*). And you know what? I freaking loved it. I LOVED my myTouch 3G Slide, but upgraded since I was running out of space and the processor kind of, well, sucked. The 4G Slide is like the 3G on ten doses of steroids, topped with a hearty dose of caffeine, and sprinkled with a generous helping of sugar. Every time I go to use it I discover something new and totally fucking awesome about it. :D

Besides the new cellphone goodness, I gave Puff his allowance money, which he promptly spent on a new wallet and the renewal of his Game Informer subscription; and I picked up my thirteen year old brother from my mom so he could spend the night with us. I then wrangled all four kids through Target (three autistic boys + one flouncy six year old girl = homicidal Jenn) for the necessary ingredients for homemade pancakes, and then dragged everyone home and got them set up with various activities. Only, I forgot to buy bacon and/or sausage – Dan to the rescue! He was out at a football game today, but kindly swung by the grocery store so we’d have some greasy fried pig to go with my dense but oh-so-yummy pancakes.

Right now I am basking after some much-needed bow-chicka-wow-wow time with Daniel, which was followed up by a hot, cozy shower. I’m thinking it’s bedtime soon. I is a tired Jenn!

Your hair is short! But I like it. I’ve been thinking about cutting mine short but I don’t know if I can do it.
