Bring on the loves!

Yesterday Dan worked early, so after he got home from work we went out to take care of a few errands before the kids got home from school and we had to worry about dinner and chauffeuring Alyssa to her Girl Scout campfire event (the troop leaders let Ryan stay, aw!). First we went to a district justice’s office, where I paid an April traffic ticket (my registration had expired at the end of March and I forgot to renew it, and an eagle-eyed cop spotted it) I had forgotten about it. Note to self: this county is VERY warrant-happy. Because I forgot to pay the damn ticket, a warrant was issued for my rest. Awesome, no? Well, at least I found out about the warrant when I paid the ticket (which canceled the warrant, heh), and not by being pulled over and then notified by a police officer.

After that fun, we went to Target for a few items, including not one but two Christmas presents, whoo hoo (one is for Puff and Ryan; the other is either going to Alyssa or Ryan – we haven’t decided yet)! Then we went to Walmart, which I loathe, because Dan was desperate to find a t-shirt of a certain color for his Halloween costume (he’s dressing up as Gary from Spongebob, aw!). Then we hit up Taco Bell for dinner (12 tacos for $10? Yes please!), which we took home and gave to Alyssa, Ryan and my brother.

Then we dropped Alyssa and Ryan off at the church where Alyssa’s Girl Scout troop meets for the campfire (but not before almost hitting a deer that ran out onto the road in front of us while we were going about 60mph; thank god for new tires, new brakes, one year old rotors, and seat belts!), and Dan dragged me over to Hardware Freight, his favorite man toy store. I dragged him into Kmart for one of those stuffed animal nets for Ryan (we gave Alyssa one, and now Ryan wants one; unfortunately we purchased Alyssa’s at Toys ‘r Us, which is on the other side of town, argh), but they didn’t have it. They did have, however, a Marble Works set, which we picked up as a Christmas gift for Ryan. Score! Oh, and lots of Angry Birds:

And ten inches of Jesus (we’re still laughing over this):

After a quick stop at Sonic for some grub, we headed back to pick up Alyssa and Ryan, then came home and got the kids settled down. We broke the news to Alyssa that her birthday party would not be today, as originally planned, but next Saturday, due to the weather forecast. Seriously, what the hell Mother Nature? 5″ to 10″ of snow in October?! She was upset, but chose to open the last two gifts from Dan and I last night, rather than next week at the party.

Everyone and everything was cleaned up, put away and in bed by midnight. And that’s all she wrote.

  1. Whoa that is some early Christmas shopping! You are so good! I haven’t even begun to think about Christmas yet!

12 tacos for $10 is insane! Whoa!

Aww, their presents are so cute and I love their smiles! :D
Caity’s last blog entry: So many steps.
