It’s been a while since a major or even semi-minor component of my layout (which may or may not be the most original idea in the book, but dammit it was MY idea in terms of the types of icons, colors, placements, and hover effect) has been outright stolen and re-used without a request or even a freaking tip of a hat towards me (aka giving credit where credit is due – in your sidebar, in your footer, on your “about” page, etc.), but lo and behold, looky at what I discovered last night:
FYI, making the exact same icons a little smaller, and changing up the CSS so that they’re positioned relatively instead of absolutely doesn’t absolve you of being a twat muffin. Stay the hell out of my source code and CSS!

I must say, it’s been such a long time since I’ve seen any of this. What a twatwaffle.

Naughty naughty! Also, ROFL @ Brandy. Twatwaffle? Really?? lulz
Hope they just take it down. Too shameful to credit now.
Was it Crystole…AGAIN? LOL.
Crystole? LOL! Wow, it’s been years since I’ve heard that name. I feel old now, at least e-old.
Sadly, it wasn’t Krystole, lol. it was someone who I mistakenly thought was more on the up & up than this.
Oh wow I remember hearing about her awhile back for crap like this. I guess some people don’t learn. She’s on like drama book or something like that.
Karyn’s last blog entry: What a day!
Wow, just about completely ripped it off–placement, functionality, everything. Grr. Plagiarism in any form annoys the heck out of me (especially as a former Language Arts teacher). Looking to other websites is great for design _inspiration_, but not for design copying!
Wow! I read her blog and never thought she would do something like that.

Yikes, that’s just annoying! Sorry you have to deal with something like this. It’s like we’re all back in 2002 again! What ever happened with Krystole, or however you spell her damn name?
Even if copying is the biggest form of flattery it doesn’t make it any less annoying. A little curious as to who did it because I have no clue at all. Would have been one thing if they asked ahead of time or even credited for the inspiration.
Haha I remember Krystole – she’s still around too
Veronica’s last blog entry: What I Am Working On
I’m curious as to who it is now myself. I love this layout, but I’m so rusty in the coding department that there is no way I can duplicate it, but put my own twist to it without fucking something up. Evil people >.<
Nat Marie’s last blog entry: …There are no words.
Heh, I didn’t even know those buttons did that neat hover thing until just now. How cool.
You have good blog ideas. Not gonna lie, I am envious of your skills. I wish I could design code like you do. But I’m way too lazy to even consider copying the source code to do something that cool. Free WP themes FTW!
Sorry you got copied.
It’s hard to take when you’ve worked hard on something.
Ronni’s last blog entry: Anywhere Is
I will fully admit that I am soooo super jealous of your designs. And I’ve actually thought about BEGGING you for some direction, or code, or help. But you know what, I’ve stopped myself. As much as I love them, they are yours and I would never in a million years think about stealing someone else’s code, let alone yours.
…even though you make it so tempting because your designs are so great!
Christina’s last blog entry: Where’s Waldo?…errr…Christina?
I noticed a few months ago that a blogger I know ganked my about me page and changed a few words, but overall it reads the same as mine. Needless to say I was pretty pissed off for a while but in the end I just stopped caring. The funny part is that she has gone on rants before about people copying her.

jealous as well and kinda upset that we don’t get to go look at ms. twatmuffin’s blog to see if she defends her thievery.
Ranee’s last blog entry: Hello world!
I’m not sure why anyone should have to credit you when you didn’t make the icons, or the code for it and noone stole your css, anyone can look up how to do that online! Also, I’ve seen those same damn buttons on the side of the page in SO MANY blogs, not just yours & hers! How sad is this…..
Well, the icons you are using aren’t really a design you made yourself. They are freely available to others, so really woman, snap out of it. It’s also highly childish to make a blogpost slandering other person.. over, what, icons that are not your designs to begin with and are available to others? Now, is this blogpost very mature of you? No, it’s not.
When you have created the buttons from scratch and not just the code then you can say someone stole it. Also, a lot of people learn to code bystringing together bits and pieces and changing them tosuit their needs. If youdon’t want people rooting around your code then you are better off not being on the internet or designing at all.
Ugh that is gross. Did you contact her to ask wtf? If so,what did she have to say for herself?
Louise’s last blog entry: (actually more than annoyed but yeah)
Isn’t it a bit more twatwaffley to claim something as your own when you have absolutely no right to do so? I mean hell, you didn’t make the icons. You didn’t make up the hover code. You didn’t even make up the placement on this, as I’ve seen this on other websites and applications many times. Seriously, calm yourself down, because all this “lolrighetousindignation” just makes -you- look like a total cunt. And that’s just not necessary.
The funny part is now you have at least 3 people trying to tell you to knock it off who aren’t leaving you their details. It kind of makes me giggle.
I am really sorry to hear the person copied your code.
Sara’s last blog entry: I feel like a single parent
Leaving our email address is required to leave a comment. If Jenn wanted to contact us, she can. But here’s my twitter account if you really desperately want it.
Bekka said exactly what I was thinking. Not all of us have websites, blogs, or Twitter so we wouldn’t link those.
I agree for those that aren’t leaving your information the difference is Jenn links and credits all of her work and if she wrote (which I’m sure she did because she just rocks like that.) the CSS placement herself 100% plus she did say she made one of those icons herself, if you would go back and read carefully.
This person just stole the CSS, the icons and apparently (if I’m understanding this correctly) gave no credit to anyone. That’s wrong. So if you’re going to bitch at least be brave enough to give your information instead of being a coward and staying unnamed, and uncontactable.
