December is here. Squee! That means we’re in the month of Christmas. Double squee! I’ve been counting down the days until Christmas every now and then since August; it’s nice to say that there’s “less than a month” until Christmas as opposed to “less than one hundred days” until Christmas.
Speaking of Christmas, we have the tree. It’s monstrous, which is what happens when Dan goes Christmas tree foraging without me. But it’s beautiful, it smells divine, and so far it’s showing excellent needle retention (I’m sure us keeping our house at 68° helps with that, even if only a little). Best of all, it’s only the 1st of December and we have SO. MANY. PRESENTS. crammed under the tree. With the exception of a few things for each other, Dan’s aunts and uncle, his sister, and some things coming in the mail, and a few odds and ends for Ryan’s therapists and his and Alyssa’s teachers, we are done. Now I just need to get a move-on with the Christmas cards. My goal was to have them out the weekend after Thanksgiving, but with how this recovery of mine has been going (slowly, painfully, and as of early this evening I am once again bloated and swollen like a puffer fish), that obviously didn’t happen.
I’ve got the lame but cute snowflakes going on here on Jenn.nu. Now I just need to put up a new header with a Christmas tree or a snowman or something, and I’ll be good to go.
