Someone tell me where Thanksgiving went.

November blazed by a little too quickly for my liking. Hell, for that matter, so did October! With all of the changes life has thrown at us this past year, plus my “health” issues, for lack of a better time, I didn’t get everything accomplished that I wanted to over the past few months. I have all sorts of adorable Halloween and autumn themed sprinkles I had the intentions of adding to a variety of cookies and cupcakes, most of which I planned on giving away since I have a lot more fun baking the stuff than I do eating it (just one lick of a spatula’s worth of sweet cake mix or cookie mix is enough to trigger dumping!). I had some fall activities in mind for the kids, including going on a hay ride and picking apples and pumpkins, that never came to fruition. :(

And now it’s the second of December, the Christmas tree is up and dozens of presents are jammed underneath it, and I’m still trying to get a foothold. Don’t get me wrong – I LOVE Christmas and have been anxiously awaiting this time of year for several months now, but I feel like the time between late summer and this current time flew by way too quickly. Blah.

In other news, I’ve been told by my surgeon’s assistant and her nurse to stay off my feet as much as possible, because my small intestines are still quite unhappy with being poked and prodded and stabbed at, and so if I do something as minor as, I don’t know, more than the “lightest” housework, or walk from the car to a small store and back out again, they swell up and make me look like I’m smuggling a pineapple under my shirt. Sexy, I know.

This weekend my goal is to clear out my work inbox and get Christmas cards ready to be sent out. Have you mailed yours yet?

  1. I definitely get what you’re saying about time going by too quickly. Last month, I went to the Bahamas for a week, it’s been ALMOST a month now since that happened and it doesn’t feel like it at all. I have my tree up but it isn’t decorated and no presents have been purchased yet, so you’re ahead of the game on that one :) Hope you feel better soon!
