This was my breakfast, and it’s my breakfast on most days. You’re looking at 5 ounces of 1% low-fat milk (I just can’t tolerate skim, blech!) mixed with one scoop of Isopure Whey Protein Isolate (chocolate flavor), which gives me 30 grams of protein – which is about half of what I need a day. I generally make up the rest from meat and dairy sources, though mostly dairy sources, a little bit of meat, and some beans, as I do not always tolerate meat all that well. If at the end of the day I still haven’t reached my goal, or if I want to give myself a little boost, I’ll have another in place of or a few hours after dinner.
Of all of the protein powders I’ve tried, Isopure tastes the best, though I’m still not crazy about it. I know of a lot of people, my own mother, brothers and even Alyssa included, who like the tastes of protein shakes. Maybe I’m just weird. In any case, I’m not into them, but I drink them because I need them. Necessary evil, and all that jazz.
