Dan taught me how to drive. My first time driving was at night, on a highway, while I was wearing flip-flops. A total failtacular combination, I know, but I did fine.
Because we live in the boonies, I can drive miles — literally, miles (think 5+) before encountering a single traffic light.
Because I’ve done most of my driving in the country, I get very claustrophobic when driving in cities. I’m always worried about sideswiping a parked car, or getting too close to the next lane of traffic.
“Watch For Motorcycles” campaigns annoy the ever-living-crap out of me, because in my experience many motorcyclists put themselves in danger by weaving in and out of traffic, driving along the shoulder of the road to bypass traffic congestion, etc. I obey the rules of the road and keep as much distance between myself and motorcyclists as possible – they need to step up their game a bit, in my opinion.
I hate when drivers don’t signal. In my opinion if you cannot do something as basic and courteous as use signals to let other drivers where you’re going, then you should lose your license.
I drive an eleven year old 4-cylinder car with 135,000+ miles on it. I don’t push it beyond 65mph. If this is a problem for you in a 65mph zone, pass me – don’t tailgate me.
