Blah. I have several pending orders and several payments I’ve been expecting in the mail since Saturday, but nothing then, nothing Monday, nothing today. I’m stressed out because my gas tank is on empty, and so is my mother’s. And of course, no money of any kind until Friday (pay day). :sigh: And I work today. And tomorrow. Ack. Anyone want to help? :whimper:
My mother and I took just about everything else of mine over to the house yesterday. The only things left are a small pile of clothes on top of my brother’s dresser, my computer (not the desk; I’m just going to buy a new one and leave this one for my brother), toiletries, and the cats. I put some things away while I was there, and cleaned off our dresser with furniture polish. Yay for “nesting” urges. 
Anyway. Not too much is going on. We can’t really move in until we get some money to buy the basic necessities – food, blinds, shower curtain, soap. We’re both getting paid on Friday, but we’re also expecting that $250 refund check from the realtor (we had put that down to “hold” the trailer while we were trying to get the loan). It was supposed to have been mailed out last Tuesday. Hmm. Where is it? :frustrated: Grrr.
Today I work at 4. Oh, lucky, lucky me.

Today Daniel and his brothers packed up their dad’s truck and brought almost all of the stuff that was at their house over to the cottage. The only things left for them to bring are the air conditioner (talk about a must have!), nightstand, Daniel’s desk, the entertainment center, a television (a new 27” Daniel bought for $160 since it was a display model! :cha-ching:), and whatever odds and ends he has left – clothes, toiletries, etc. Everything else is at the cottage, including everything of mine, except for my computer desk, computer, printer, and a few articles of clothing and toiletries. Oh, the cats are still here too. :cat2: In the living room I have a pile of things I’m taking over tomorrow: baby swing, box full of the “misc” stuff that we toss into the box as we find it, cosmetic cases, and a diaper bag and diapers. Oh, and a pink recliner and coffee table my mother is giving me.
Heh. While Daniel and I were in the cottage today, after his brothers had left, we set up the bed and decided to try it out. I can’t believe it’s been almost eight months since we last had any fun it in. :censored: Ahh. That was nice. I needed it. So did he. Now I’m sore as hell. Reminder to self: don’t have vigorous sex after two and a half weeks of no sex. Lack of “usage” = tightness! :ack:
What day will we be moved in? We’re aiming for Tuesday, but I know definitely by Friday, since that’s when Comcast is coming to hook up the cable tv and internet, and they need us and the TV and computer there to set things up. Anyway, it’s all a matter of getting the rest of the stuff over to the cottage, and getting a few necessities right away: shower curtain, blinds (we really need four, but can make do with one for the bedroom right now) and some food to tide us over until pay day (Friday). Oh, and food and water bowls for the cats, since the ones at my mom’s house are for BlueBoy, who is staying, since he’s not my cat. Mulder and Toby are my only fur babies.
Um, I set up a moving fund. :blush: There’s a link to an informative page about it above the blog. I normally wouldn’t ask for donations, but since it’s going to be a few weeks before we’ve caught up with money and all, I’m a bit… desperate. Eh. I still can’t believe we have the cottage. But, the key :key: is in my pocket right now. It looks like a lot of you were right! :nod: Yesterday evening my mother and I went over there and did lots and lots of cleaning – cleaned the bathroom, the windows, light switches, doorknobs, the kitchen, mopped the floor, and steam cleaned the rugs. The entire place reeks of Fantastik (all purpose cleaner), bleach, Windex, the floor soap, and the steam cleaner soap. There are also two deodorizers – one in the bedroom and one in the living room. The smell of clean and sanitary should slap you in the face within ten feet of the front door. :haha: I also moved over a few of the baby’s things (bouncer, diaper genie and a toy. Hey, I did say a few!) and everything out of my closet (which amounts to five skirts, four pairs of dress pants, a dress, over three dozen shirts and four coats.). :whew: Today I’m working until 5:00pm, but Daniel has off, so hopefully he is getting all of the furniture (it’s stored at his family’s house) moved over.
Last night I called and had phone service and cable television and cable internet service activated. The cable tv and internet will be activated this Friday (the 13th). The phone service will be activated next Monday (the 16th). Lucky my cell phone :cellphone: has a signal there. Amazing, considering the area these cottages are located at is more rural than where my mother’s house is at, and I don’t get a signal there! :eyeroll:
Anyway, gotta go. Working at 7:00am. Oh, joy. :wave:

We got the cottage!
I am so overjoyed, I can not even express without just wanting to jump around and squeal and shriek. :bounce: It’s $570 per month, which we can afford. We signed the lease, have the keys, and will be dropping off the check for the first month’s rent and security deposit (minus $120, since it’s August 6th and rent is due on the 1st of every month) tomorrow afternoon. I will also be going over there tomorrow afternoon to steam clean the rugs. The last person who lived there obviously had a cat who was not fixed. :yuck: Whew. The smell practically smacked you in the face the moment you stepped through the front door. :crazy: Oh well. It’s nothing that a good steam cleaning and airing out won’t fix. And of course, pet odor absorbant candles and glade plug-ins are also a big help. :haha:
We’ll definitely be moved in by next weekend. The issue now is finding time with our schedules to get everything packed up and moved over. Mainly, getting things moved over. But, we’ll manage.
