Wow. :whew: I feel totally wiped out. I spent a lot of time putting this layout together. It looks simple, yes, but I spent about three days messing around in Photoshop, discarding layout after layout (all featuring the imfamous :kmkcat: K-M-K kitty, surprise surprise.). Finally I whipped this up tonight. I love the colors. Isn’t the heart  cute? :cloudnine:
Along with the new layout I updated the side content (more links :)), links and added a previous layouts page. Yes, I had a lot of time on my hands. :haha:
Alyssa has been moving around like crazy tonight. :stork-girl: You know, I never felt her move at all yesterday, so that combined with feeling weird/achy/crampy (and I still feel that way) was what made me decide to go to the hospital. Of course, after I’m admitted, banded, and hooked up on the table with the fetal monitor, THEN she starts moving. :eyeroll: So of course I felt silly for being there. Oh well, better safe than sorry. Anyway, right now she’s working quite a number on my cervix. I wish she’d move up, or over, or something… the pressure and her kicking is uncomfortable!
Here’s the playpen Daniel bought last night:
And the stroller and highchair we plan on getting within the next month:
Notice an ongoing theme here? :haha: I never used to like Winnie the Pooh, but these new prints are too adorable to pass up. :angelic:
Anyway. Tomorrow I work from 8:00am-4:00pm. :blah: Kill me now. :faint: My alarm is set for 6:40am. Oh, that sucks. I still have cupcakes to bake (I volunteered to make two dozen cupcakes for a charity bake sale one of the employees is having), since stupid me forgot to do so earlier this evening. :dammit:
I’m hoping while I’m at work tomorrow my mom will be calling me to let me know the restaurant owner (Steve) has called. Keep crossing :crossfingers: and praying! I know I will be. I have a really good feeling about this, but sometimes my really good feelings aren’t all that accurate. :ack:

I don’t know what on earth Alyssa is doing, but it feels like she’s kicking my cervix repeatedly. :boggled: Damn, that hurts!
My dentist appointment went okay. My gums bled like hell while I had my teeth cleaned, the taste of the polish was making me gag, and the spit sucker felt like it was sucking out everything in my nasal passages as well. :haha: Oh, and the tooth I thought I had a cavity in is fine, but I have two other cavities. However, because I’m pregnant they won’t do anything about them until after I have her. Oh well. I’m not too crazy about needles and drilling anyway. :blah:
Daniel and I went and saw the apartment. I guess since things are looking hopeful I’ll go ahead and talk about it. :bounce: It’s $550 a month, and that includes heat and water. It’s spacious – very very room. See floor plan (aren’t I talented?):
The thing about this apartment is that it’s over a family restaurant. The family restaurant is in what was once a large house. It’s the upstairs that’s been converted to an apartment. The apartment is sealed off from the restaurant (by two locking doors that lock securely on both sides), and accessible by a private entrance (stairway with a small landing) in the back of the house. It’s roomy. The few “downsides”:
1. the restaurant’s office is on the second floor, and is next to the bedroom. It’s not accessible at all, but it’s still weird to know that Daniel and I can’t be too loud while we’re getting it on:censored: since there may be someone in the office next door.
2. The windows in the living room cannot be opened (double-paned). There are, however, two very large “alcove” windows “above” the living room (if that makes sense).
3. There is no tub, just a shower stall. Gee, it’s good that I’m not claustrophobic! :haha:
4. There is no fridge. Daniel has one, but it’s only a small cube one that would hold no more than a gallon of milk, some lunchmeat and a few other small odds and ends in the fridge, and maybe two or three things in the freezer. :ack: We’d have to get a larger fridge ASAP.
But, there are several good things:
1. The rent is within our budget. Better still, it includes heat and water, which’ll save us about $300 per month.
2. It’s spacious – plenty of room! Even though it’s only a one bedroom, it’d be possible to turn the other part of the living room into a second bedroom for Alyssa (see floor plan). :stork-girl:
3. It’s private.
4. Plenty of parking. :haha:
5. Great location: right off of 272, only a mile from my mother’s house and about five from Daniel’s family’s house.
6. Even though it’s above the restaurant (the main dining area), the house is very well insulated: we didn’t hear anything. Also, the restaurant has a family atmosphere, and closes by 9:00pm.
So, we’ll see. The owner of the restaurant said he’ll review the application we filled out with his wife and give us a call back this weekend. I hope we get it! Keep crossing those appendages :crossfingers: and saying those prayers! I know I will be!

There’s nothing quite like the type of morning sickness where you keep heaving and heaving until nothing but blood starts coming up. :puke: Sorry, I suppose that was a bit graphic. But blood? I’ve never had that happen before.
Anyway, I have a dentist appointment at 10:15am (lucky me! :eyeroll:), and then at 1:00pm Daniel and I will be checking out the apartment. :house: Wish us luck! Keep your fingers crossed :crossfingers: and/or pray  for us!

I changed my mind. I love b2 way too much to switch. :angelic: I’ll always be a b2 fan, even when cafelog.com bites the dust. So don’t worry Chrissy, you and I will be die hard fans together.
I went into work at 4pm, but left at 8pm after calling the OBGYN and being told to come into the hospital to be checked out. For the past few days I’ve been feeling really achy and crampy, and today it felt like there was suddenly a lot of pressure a lot lower than where Alyssa usually is. So, I was hooked up to a heartbeat monitor and had her heartbeat and my uterus movements recorded. I also had my cervix checked. Everything checked out fine, but I’ve been advised to rest for a few days. Gee, Daniel finally heart Alyssa’s heartbeat! What a way to hear it – in the hospital. :eyeroll:
After leaving the hospital we went over to Wal-Mart to pick up a Graco Pack & Play playpen (something we planned on doing originally after I was done work), and now I’m home.
Not to jinx Daniel and I… but tomorrow we’re going to check out an apartment. If all goes well, we’re going to get it, since the location is perfect, and so is the pricing. Keep your fingers crossed! :crossfingers:
