Daniel bought me my very first digital camera in January of 2003. It was a Fuji FinePix 2650, and I loved it from the start. I took thousands of photos with it, and when I was finally ready for an upgrade, the body of the camera definitely showed how often I took it with me and how much I used it. In addition to everyday photos, I used the Fuji to document our wedding, and my pregnancy and birth of Alyssa.

In March of 2005 I upgraded to the Kodak EasyShare Z740. This camera was also a lot of fun, and it documented my pregnancy and birth of Ryan.

In November of 2006 I purchased the HP PhotoSmart R967. This was definitely a fun digital camera to have, and I loved its pocket-friendly size.

It wasn’t long after the purchase of the R967 that I started getting interested in the higher-end DSLRs. I originally had my heart set on a Canon Rebel, since I had seen what it was capable of producing whenever I took Alyssa and Ryan to get their portraits done at Picture People.
But in late May of 2007, my grandfather bought my mother a Nikon D40, and after trying it out in a variety of settings and lighting conditions, I decided that I wanted the same camera.

On June 8th, 2007, I purchased the Nikon D40 camera kit, and had it overnighted to me. The kit included the camera, two lenses (18-55mm and 55-200mm), camera bag, battery and battery dock, and a few other camera essentials.

In September of 2007 I sold the camera body, and put the money towards the purchase of the Nikon D40x camera body, which I picked up in November of that year.

I currently still have the Nikon D40x, along with the following lenses and accessories:

I have taken over 40,000 photos with the Nikon D40x, and have over 7,000 of those photos uploaded to Flickr.
